23  Benefits for Society
Related to the increased socialization of these babies is the fact that the babies in these programs were exposed to and learned from lots of different people, not just their parents. In addition, all these people became part of the baby's network.

Mark Tatara explained that he believes that bringing his son to work at Health Newsletters Direct definitely had an impact on his baby's personality. He said that his son is very friendly, which he attributes to his son "
seeing people [at work] smiling at him, as well as seeing them every day." He added that he thinks that now that his son is older, it almost seems like one or two people isn't enough for him; "he doesn't see enough people." This fits with the nature of children. Humans are extremely social. Babies and children expect to interact with and learn from lots of different people--not just their parents.
Enables Professional Women to Stay in the Workforce

An increasing number of women are inadvertently remaining childless for life because they end up waiting too long to try to get pregnant and are hesitant to try adoption. This means that society loses the substantial resources these intelligent, educated, and financially stable women have to offer a child or children, and it can cause tremendous emotional trauma to women in a culture in which being pregnant and giving birth to a child is often associated with a woman's sense of femininity and self-worth. Babies in the workplace can help alleviate this situation by giving these women a way to merge their professional and family lives, and these programs are likely to make it easier for these women to feel comfortable starting a family earlier in life.
