a six-month baby period was over and they found out that a particular baby wasn't there anymore.  The members wanted to continue watching each baby growing up.

A baby-to-work program also improves customer relations for a more practical reason:  people know that they perform better in their own jobs when they are treated well by their employer.  When they feel appreciated, they are much more willing to work hard to meet a deadline and work extra hard to take care of customers--and they know that other people are the same way.

Willie Jones, of Magical Journey Bookstore, explained that letting his employees bring their babies to work showed that the company was "
saying they support you in your life, which I think is an important benefit."  He added that it becomes clear that:
[The company] cares about people as
people, and the customers see it
immediately.  It doesn't need to be said.  If
you treat employees that way, there's a
realistic feeling that you probably  treat your
   customers better, too.

Having an active baby program shows that a company cares about its employees and doesn't just view them as cogs in a machine.  The attitude of everyone in the company is going to be far better as a result. When members of Valley, Schools Financial, and UNCLE Credit Unions are helped by a teller whose newborn baby is sleeping contentedly next to her, they
intuitively understand that this happy mother is much less likely to make a mistake with their transaction than if her baby were at day care and she was distracted because she was missing her child or worrying about her.
