children the way they want to.  But if a mother can keep her baby with her, especially during those crucial first few months, she is much more likely to remain working at least part-time and be able to contribute to the financial stability of her family.  If baby programs are implemented
in our society on a large scale, it is very
likely that the number of women completely leaving the workforce will
diminish. As these mothers are able to wait until their babies reach a level of self-sufficiency before going to day care (and as companies invent sustainable ways to allow parenting in the workplace with toddlers), they will be able to make a more informed decision about remaining employed.

Also, a baby program is an extremely low-cost way for large numbers of companies to experiment with the business benefits that come from efforts to help employees balance their work and
family lives.  A baby program may be merely the first step for many companies in implementing other measures which make families' lives easier, thus helping women and men feel more comfortable working and raising children at the same time.

Lower Day Care Costs

Parents incur lower day care expenses by taking their baby to work instead of day care.  For many parents, day care fees wipe out a huge part of their income, and when commute time and other working expenses are factored in, some parents start to feel as though they're working so that they can pay for day care so that they can go to work.  On top of this, many day care facilities have a limited number of enrollment slots for infants under six months old or don't take babies at all.
